The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has again warned candidates sitting for the 2018 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination to avoid any form of malpractice.

Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, the JAMB Registrar, gave the warning while addressing reporters ahead of the exams that starts on Friday.

He warned the candidates against flouting the board’s rules.

“We urge the candidates to avoid any form of malpractice or shortcut to passing the examination.

“You are aware that we have banned some items from going into the examination halls; we have banned special glasses, wristwatches and many other things that we are aware our candidates use for illicit activities.

He once again listed items JAMB candidates must not come with during the exams.

“As the candidates are getting cleverer, the board is getting wiser. We have done everything possible to avoid the issue of logging out.

“We are going to monitor every system and if we discover that a candidate deliberately shut down a system, he will carry his cross.”

He reiterated that items such as: Wrist watches,Pen/biro, Mobile phones or similar electronic devices, Spy reading glasses which should be scrutinized, Calculators or similar electronic devices, USB,CD, Hard disks and/or similar storage devices, Books or any reading/writing material, Cameras, Recorders, Microphones, Ear pieces, Ink/pen readers,Smart lenses, Smart rings/jewellery, Smart buttons and Bluetooth devices should be avoided.
