Okorocha Tasks Nysc Management On Agriculture

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has charged managers of the National Youth Service Corps scheme (NYSC) in the state to join hands with his administration in its efforts to improve the living standards of the people through rapid rural agricultural development.

He noted that massive food production through agricultural revolution still remained the mainstay of most nations of the world as it not only takes care of increased food production, but also creates wealth.

Okorocha gave the charge when he officially closed the orientation course for the 1,903 Batch “A” corps members deployed to the state at the NYSC permanent orientation camp, Eziama Obaire.

Represented by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Talents and Youth Development, Dr. Mrs. Pat Ekenniaya, the governor noted that the NYSC established 45 years ago has continued to realize its objectives of fostering national unity, cohesion and integration among the youths and advised the corps members to remain resolute, dutiful and committed to their service obligation.

“Stay at your duty post regularly, shun truancy and unnecessary travelling, endeavour to live within your capacity, shun the get rich quick syndrome and other societal ills which leads the youths to various criminal tendencies”, he admonished.

The governor also enjoined the corps members to be ready to show love to their fellow brothers and sisters in all their dealings and undertakings in their areas of posting.

Mrs. Josephine Uche Bakare, the NYSC coordinator in the state, in an address earlier disclosed that the scheme’s twenty one day orientation course had richly empowered the corps members to begin their primary assignment in a bid to contribute their own quota to the growth and development of the state.

She similarly urged them to be loyal, disciplined, dedicated, resourceful and law abiding, even as she assured them of the hospitality of their host communities.

I am Not who you think i am, I am not who I think I am. I am who you think I think I am
