Don't Be Used For Settling Political Scores - Tambuwal Urges NYSC Members

Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has advised National Youth Service Corp members not to be used for settling political scores by selfish politicians.
Tambuwal gave the advice Thursday at the passing out ceremony of Batch A stream 1 corps members in Sokoto. He urged them to see themselves as agents of peace and unity which have been the core values of the scheme.

"As you depart from Sokoto at the end of your service year, I urge you to desist from acts that will bring you and your family shame. Do not allow anybody to use you to settle political, tribal or religious differences,” he said.

Represented by the Head of Service, Dr. Buhari Bello Kware, he implored them to use the skills acquired during the service year to set up small scale businesses in order to become self-reliant.

In his remarks, the state NYSC Coordinator, Alhaji Musa Abubakar, also urged the corps members to put into practice the skills acquired during the service year to improve their lives.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the State NYSC Governing Board, Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar Ladan, said 12 corps members were bestowed with various awards for their outstanding performance during the service year.
