"WHERE DID IT FALL? PICK IT UP"
2 Kings 6:5-7 NKJV
[5] But as one was cutting down a tree, the iron ax head fell into the water; and he cried out and said, "Alas, master! For it was borrowed."
_
[6] So the man of God said, "Where did it fall?" And he showed him the place. So he cut off a stick, and threw it in there; and he made the iron float.
_
[7] Therefore he said, "Pick it up for yourself." So he reached out his hand and took it.
_
A recap of the previous day.
The Sons of the The Prophets, a group of young ministers of God in the school of the Prophets had pleaded with Elisha to follow them to Jordan, so as to be present with them as they cut down some trees to make buildings for another settlement because the place they were all living together could not contain them again. And as they were cutting down trees, the iron axe-head of one of them fell off into the waters of Jordan and sank. Then, he shouted out to the man of God for help because the axe was borrowed.
_
The Lord had made us to see that the borrowed axe could mean "Borrowed Gifts" and it could also translate to mean "Borrowed Life". Our Gifts that we carry about are all "Borrowed Axe-Head" that should not be carelessly handled, but must be returned back to the owner who gave it to us.
_
Your Gifts with which you have been relevant in your school, campus, house or church are all "Gifts from God" borrowed to be used for expansion of the Lord's Territories and must never be carelessly handled or misuse.
Now.
_
The Servant of God asked a very serious question from the man: "Where did it fall?"
The man was so desperate for help. He showed the Man of God the exact spot when the axe had fell into waters, and the Man of God did a miracle, of throwing a stick into the spot where the axe-head fell into , AND THE IRON AXE-HEAD DID FLOAT.
_
2 Kings 6:6 NKJV
[6] So the man of God said, "Where did it fall?" And he showed him the place. So he cut off a stick, and threw it in there; and he made the iron float.
IF YOUR IRON AXE-HEAD HAD FALLEN OFF INTO THE WATERS OF LIFE, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO KNOW EXACTLY WHERE IT FELL OFF...
_
If your Gifts, given to you by God for the expansion of His territories had fallen off your hand into the waters of life,
AND YOU REALLY DESIRE IT BACK IN YOUR HAND, so that you might continue the Divine Assignment given to you by God, THEN YOU MUST BE ABLE TO KNOW EXACTLY WHERE IT HAD FALLEN OFF.
_
IF you have messed up your Calling and Ministry and Gifts, and your life has been messed up as a result of Mis-handling and misuse of the Lord's Grace and Gifts, YOU MUST KNOW EXACTLY WHERE THE AXE-HEAD HAS FALLEN OFF INTO THE WATERS, IF YOU ARE SINCERE ABOUT YOUR RECOVERY AND RESTORATION.
_
If you don't tell the Lord where your AXE-HEAD had fallen off, it is because you are not serious about your restoration and recovery of what you have lost. IT WAS THE EXACT PLACE WHERE THE AXE-HEAD HAD FALLEN OFF THAT IT WAS RECOVERED.
_
Where and When did you TEAR your Certificate of Salvation?
That was Where and When the Axe-Head fell off into the Waters, you will need to recover it, or else, a person who had lost his Axe-Head will live a miserable live, because he has lost the essence of his living. Living to fulfill God's Purpose on Earth.
_
Where and When did you Compromise your faith because of the pressure of life or the pressure of friends and colleagues?
That was Where and When the Axe-Head fell off and since then, the axe Head had been sinking in the water till it finally rested deep down on the river bed.
BUT FROM WHERE IT HAD SANK, IT CAN STILL FLOAT AGAIN, IF YOU CRY OUT TO THE LORD AND SHOW HIM WHERE THE AXE-HEAD HAD FALLEN.
_
The Man CRIED out to the Man of God.
The Man SHOWED where the Axe-Head had fallen.
THAT IS REPENTANCE AND CONFESSION.
Genesis 49:3-4 NKJV
[3] "Reuben, you are my firstborn, My might and the beginning of my strength, The excellency of dignity and the excellency of power.
_
[4] Unstable as water, you shall not excel, Because you went up to your father's bed; Then you defiled it- He went up to my couch.
_
Reuben lost the Axe-head the day he committed adultery with his father's wife, several years back. But we never read about him doing anything about it.
He NEVER CRIED unto God for the atrocity.
And HE NEVER RAN TO HIS FATHER TO CONFESS AND ASK HIM. FOR HIS FORGIVENESS.
HE NEVER REPENTED BEFORE GOD.
Then, the pronouncement came up to him at the end, "You Shall Not Excel"
_
Must you wait till your sin catches up with you before you confess and repent, when it would be too late for that?
_
What sins have you covered up without confessing and repenting from? It is a proof that YOUR AXE-HEAD had fallen off and you never cared to Cry to God for help or Confess and Repent of the sins.
_
The Prodigal Son lost his Axe-Head the day he chose to depart from his FAther's covering and wasted his grace far away from home in a foreign land. He was completely miserable in life until he decided to come back to his Father and confess his sins to him with sincere Repentance.
Luke 15:18-19 NKJV
[18] I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him,
"Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you,
_
[19] and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants."'
_
HE IDENTIFIED WHERE HE HAD MISSED IT, AND REPENTED SINCERELY.
Luke 15:20-21 NKJ
[20] "And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.
_
[21] And the son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.'
THEN HE FOUND THE AXE-HEAD AGAIN AND WAS RESTORED.
Luke 15:22-23 NKJV
[22] "But the father said to his servants, 'Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet.
_
[23] And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry;
HE GOT BACK WHAT HE LOST. HE GOT BACK HIS HONOUR AND GLORY. THERE WAS JOY AGAIN, BECAUSE, HE REPENTED, HE CRIED TO HIS FATHER FOR FORGIVENESS AND
HIS FATHER RESTORED HIM AGAIN.
Where have you missed it? Why are you going along this journey with fake boldness and with an unassured destination. When are you going to repent of that covered-up sin and confess to God for help.
_
You lost it the moment you began to CO-HABIT with a lady or man you have not married, living like husband and wife when you have not yet married.
_
You lost it when you decided to partake in that dubious act and raked in to yourself hundreds of thousands or millions.
Even though you gave a fat offering of it and paid a huge tithe to the Lord, yet, you know the Axe is no Longer in your hand. It had fallen into the Waters.
_
What of The Abortions?
The habitual life of Fornication and adultery?
The Lies and falsehood living?
The Con and Duping lifestyles?
All you need is sincere Confession and genuine Repentance and where necessary, --Restitution.
_
AND WHAT FOLLOWED THE CRY UNTO THE MAN OF GOD?
WHAT FOLLOWED THE CONFESSION OF WHERE HE HAD LOST
THE AXE-HEAD?
The Man caused the axe-head to float again. And the PROPHET OF GOD said to HIM:
"PICK IT UP FOR YOURSELF!"
It is when the Lord has given your life back to you, that you can pick it up and continue fulfilling His purpose.
_
I encourage you this day to Run to God with Repentance and Confession of where you have missed it and where the Axe-Head had fallen?
_
THEN, THE LORD GOD WILL CAUSE YOUR LIFE AND YOUR GIFTS TO FLOAT AGAIN.
AND YOU WILL BE ABLE TO PICK IT UP AGAIN AND CONTINUE TO FULFILL HIS DIVINE PURPOSE.
_
Lord, Cause my life and Gifts to float again.
Lord, Cause my Life and Gifts to rise up where they have sank into the waters of life because of the Storms of this life.
_
Lord, I confess my sins of when and where my Axe-Head fell off into the Waters.
And I pick up my Life and Gifts which you have caused to Float again.
