Firm Promises Vocational Training For Corps Members

In a bid to improve the scope of youth empowerment and job creation among graduate youths, a firm, General Electric, has proposed to train Corps Members in different vocational skills.

Mohammed Mijindadi, the Managing Director of the firm, who disclosed this during courtesy to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Directorate Headquarters in Abuja reiterated the firm’s commitment to the development of Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme of the scheme aimed at job creation among Corps Members.

Mijindadi, stated this yesterday while on a courtesy visit to NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Sulaiman Kazaure in his office at the Directorate Headquarters, Abuja.

Addressing his host, the Director-General, Brigadier General Sulaiman Kazaure, added that the firm would equally harness its resources by training 40 staff of the NYSC in different vocations as a form of empowerment.

The Director General, in his remark said the scheme is mobilising over 300,000 Corps Members annually.

He told the visitors that SAED training centres have been established in Gombe, Ekiti and Delta states to cater for post-camp training for Corps Members.

General Kazaure added that the Management would not relent in its efforts towards making Corps Members self-reliant and job creators.
